SYNOPSIS
Directed and co-written by Adam WONG (director of The Way We Keep Dancing, featured in the Portrait of Hong Kong series at the Forum des Images in 2024), The Way We Talk brings together Neo YAU, Marco NG, and CHUNG Suet-Ying — winner of the Golden Horse Best Actress award. Adam WONG’s sixth feature, the project was born in 2020 after his discovery of sign languages through a series of short films. Following a year of pre-production, he gathered long-time collaborators and Deaf actors, including Marco NG, who makes his screen debut here. The film’s dialogue is largely expressed in Hong Kong Sign Language.
