SYNOPSIS

Synopsis:Ah Ying is a working-class girl who dreams of becoming an actress. While attending an acting class, she meets a filmmaker recently returned from the United States, struggling to bring his project to life. Gradually, he turns his focus to Ah Ying, launching a documentary project about her and her family. A hallmark of Hong Kong’s New Wave, Allen Fong draws from the real-life experiences of newcomer HUI So-Ying to craft a docudrama that is at once deeply personal and strikingly inventive.
