SYNOPSIS

The Secret is a 1979 Hong Kong film directed by Ann HUI, marking her first feature. Inspired by real events, the story revisits the “two corpse case” that took place on Lung Fu Mountain in 1970, a murder that left a lasting mark on Hong Kong.

About Julien Sévéon

Julien Sévéon is a French journalist specializing in Asian cinemas and popular cinema. In 2005, he launched and became editor-in-chief of Mad Asia. As the editor-in-chief for the special issues Cinémas d’Asie and Grindhouse of the magazine Mad Movies, he is the author of several books, including: Blaxploitation 70’s Soul Fever, Category III. Sexe, sang et politique à Hong Kong (Category III. Sex, Blood and Politics in Hong Kong), and Mamoru Oshii, rêves, nostalgie et révolution (Mamoru Oshii, Dreams, Nostalgia and Revolution).
