SYNOPSIS
Synopsis: The Victim is a 1999 Hong Kong thriller directed and written by Ringo LAM. The film follows Manson MA, a computer programmer discovered by a policeman in a haunted hotel. As MA’s behavior increasingly unsettles his partner, Amy FU, investigators begin to suspect that he may be hiding a far more serious crime.

About Frédéric Ambroisine
Frédéric Ambroisine is a documentarian and consultant specializing in Asian cinema. He also serves as an acquisitions consultant and project manager for several restorations and international releases since the 2020s, including the 4K restored version of The Black Magic with Buddha (1983), which he is supervising for film festival screenings in 2025 and future video releases worldwide—notably in France and North America in the first quarter of 2026. He recently founded the media platforms CineFlamme (in French) and CineMagma (in English), dedicated to discovering and sharing a passion for cinema.
